Yemen

We have already reported that the Houthis have entered a new “fourth” phase of operations against Israel, which involves targeting warships of the Western Coalition, as well as targeting all commercial ships with ties to Israel, from the Red Sea to the Indian Ocean.

Since then, the Houthis have carried out dozens of attacks on commercial and warships, including the Eisenhower aircraft carrier twice, on May 31 and June 1, as well as three American destroyers. Also, on May 29, Yemen shot down another US MQ-9 Reaper drone, marking the sixth downed drone by the Houthis since the start of the war.

The Western coalition has again targeted Yemen with airstrikes. The capital city of Sana’a, as well as the provinces of Sana’a, Al-Hodeidah and Taiz, were affected. The targets were the building of the radio station, as well as the building of the coast guard, in whose attack civilian ships were also damaged. 58 people were killed and injured in these attacks.

The north of occupied Palestine

Israel in the north has never been in a worse position than it is now. Since the beginning of the war, in the north of occupied Palestine, as well as on every other front against Israel, the situation escalated day by day, and both sides used more and more advanced and destructive weapons. While Israel mainly used these weapons to inflict as much damage as possible on civilians, without diminishing Hezbollah’s combat capabilities at all, Hezbollah perfected its operations against the Israeli military.

At the time of writing, Hezbollah has conducted more than 2,000 operations since October 7 (the beginning of the war). These operations, compared to the beginning of the war, are much more sophisticated and cause much more damage to Israel, which can be seen in the fact that Israel has withdrawn most of its soldiers from the north, because it cannot protect them from Hezbollah attacks.

In addition, 930 houses were destroyed in the settlements in the north, and a total of 200,000 settlers were displaced. Although it will most likely not happen, things like this show how much of a crisis this settler-colonial state has fallen into.

Occupations of universities around the world

Although the police in every country where university occupations are being carried out in support of Palestine are increasingly repressive, the students, as well as the people who come to support them, do not let this repression intimidate them. Many universities occupied by students have more or less severed cooperation with Israel and its scientific institutions.

Those who refuse to do anything about it, and who are sending more and more police officers to the students, have met with enormous resistance from the students. An example of this is the universities of Bonn in Germany and Columbia in New York, where in Bonn students barricaded themselves, and in Columbia they occupied the university again, after the police dispersed them twice already.
